HSU (HIGH SCHOOL AGE) SOFTBALL

South Charlotte Recreation Association provides Middle School Aged softball for players in 9th through 12th grades.

Registration Fee: $295

Equipment

Uniforms: SCRA provides jersey, socks and belt. Navy pants are to be purchased on your own.

Required equipment: Softball glove, softball bat, batting helmet (with cage), and fielding face-mask.

Recommended equipment: Rubber or metal cleats.

HSU Overview

Grades	9th - 12th grades
Goals/Rules	Continued advancement of pitching and catching skills. Five run limit per inning through first 4 innings. Max of 7 innings if time permits. No pitching limits.
Base Distance	60 Feet
Pitching Distance	43 Feet
Ball Size	12 inch softball
Game Time Limits	1 Hour 30 Minutes
Home/Practice Field	Olde Providence Elementary School

Season

If there are enough players to form more than one team, teams will be formed following player evaluations. Spring practices begin in mid February with the Spring season ending tournament finishing in early June. Fall practices begin mid-August with the Fall season ending tournament finishing in early November. HSU weekday games begin at 7:30pm and are typically held on Mondays and/or Wednesdays. Weekend games are all played during the day mostly on Saturdays. All teams have 10 regular season games and participate in a post-season tournament.
