Program Overview

Challenge
For players who show greater interest or aptitude in baseball. It’s not a prep season for All-Stars, but a chance to deepen skills and experience positions at a more competitive level. Challenge emphasizes passion, opportunity, sportsmanship, and competition, focusing on skill development and discovering a player’s potential.

All-Stars
A summer program for the top Rec players who are required to play Rec baseball. In All-Stars, players are assigned specific positions by their coach, where they refine their skills and learn advanced nuances. The focus is on teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship, and competition.

*South Charlotte Baseball is affiliated with Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth and Nations Baseball, offering more summer baseball opportunities. Players must still participate in Rec ball to be eligible for Cal Ripken All-Stars.

Fall 2025 Challenge Baseball

We’re excited to open registration for our Fall 2025 Challenge Baseball season! Please review the age-cutoff guidelines and season details below.

Age Cutoff & Challenge-Season Details

Age Cutoff Reset: For Fall 2025 (through Spring 2026), all division ages are determined by player age as of April 30, 2026.
Example: To be eligible for 12U Challenge, a player must not turn 13 until after April 30, 2026.
Challenge Baseball Progression: Each Fall, Challenge teams “age up” one year.
Example: Spring/Summer 10U Challenge → Fall 11U Challenge.
Unlike Spring and Summer, Fall tryouts are only for open roster spots;
Rec Baseball Participation: Not required for Fall Challenge participants.
Players may choose both Rec and Challenge; only Spring Rec participation is mandatory.

Tryout Notes:
If a player cannot attend scheduled tryouts, inquire directly with head coaches about private tryouts on alternative dates, which may be permitted at head coach’s discretion but are not mandated.
Full open Challenge tryouts resume in Spring 2025.
