The South Charlotte Patriots are part of the Pop Warner Football Association. Besides being around for almost 100 years and well respected, they share a common philosophy regarding children and sports, in particular football: fun, safety, learning, development, and a focus on scholastics.

We play under the local association of Pop Warner called the Pop Warner Little Panthers. Our league is made of 16+ associations in the Charlotte Metro and Surrounding Counties. Our league is one of the biggest and longest standing leagues in the Country. We are part of the Mid-South Pop Warner Region.

Pop Warner General Program Information

Pop Warner Football has been around since the inception of the league in 1929 by founder Joseph J. Tomlin as a four-team conference in Northeast Philadelphia.
Since then, participation has steadily increased to today's record numbers. Over 250,000 youths participated in Pop Warner-sanctioned football programs in 2010, and those numbers are continuing to grow

SAFETY FIRST:

All South Charlotte Patriots coaches will be trained and required to complete the USA Football Youth Coach Certification Program and are given a yearly background check. Topics include Health & Safety, Football Fundamentals, Coaching Style, Concussion Awareness, Heat & Emergency Action Planning. Also included in the certification is Abuse Prevention, Foundations of Transformational Coaching and Quality Coaching and the Principles of Contact. Kids compete with kids of similar age. Pop Warner is the ONLY youth football program (local, regional and national) that sets and enforces a strict safety program both on the field and game environments. This Certification Program is USCCE approved and NCACE accredited.
